If you are new to modded Minecraft, setting up a server can feel a bit overwhelming. Follow this simple guide to grab the correct files from Modrinth and get your world started.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Find the Modpack Navigate to the TeamAMPZ modpack you wish to host on the Modrinth website.
-
Open the Versions Tab Click on the Versions button located in the top navigation bar of the project page.
-
Select the Latest Release Find the version at the top of the list. Look for the green Release badge to ensure you are getting the most stable version. Click the version name to open its details.
-
Download the Server ZIP Scroll to the very bottom of the page to the Files section. Look for the file labeled:
Server Files - [Modpack-Name].zip
Click the download icon to save it to your computer.
TIP
Once the download is complete, you will need to Extract the ZIP file into a new folder. Inside, you will typically find a start.bat (for Windows) or start.sh (for Linux) file to launch the server.
WARNING
Check your Java Version! Unless stated otherwise, our modpacks require Java 17 or higher. The specific version needed depends on the Minecraft version the modpack is built on (for example, Minecraft 1.21+ typically requires Java 21). Your server will not start if you are using an incompatible Java version.
Need help? Check the README.txt file included in the server zip for specific memory (RAM) requirements and setup tips!
